About

Birds are found all around the world. They remind us of ourselves yet are also able to fly up in the heavens. Artists around the globe respond to the birds they admire in myriad ways using a wide variety of materials and techniques.
Learn about how 60 master artists were inspired by birds to create glorious art. In the hands of these artists, the humblest materials: thread, paper, and fabric go through an alchemical transformation into incredible art. Immerse yourself in art that celebrates the birds which bring life into our landscapes and joy into our lives.

 

Aviary is based upon “Stitched Journeys with Birds: Inspiration to Let Your Creativity Take Flight” (Schiffer, late 2023) by SAQA’s Executive Director Martha Sielman.

Join us for the opening reception of Aviary!

This event is free for IMAS Members with pre-registration encouraged. Members may bring one guest per Membership. Additional guests and general public may attend for a $10 admission fee. Please present your Membership card and ID for entry. Membership may be purchased online or at the door.

Free admission to this after-hours event is a perk of membership and allows IMAS to thank its members for their support and patronage.
