Earth Optimism Camp at IMAS will be hosted both in person and virtually from December 28, 2020 -January 4, 2021.

Onsite at IMAS: Monday, December 28 through Thursday, December 31
9 AM-3 PM (Early drop off starts at 8:30 AM and pickup runs until 3:30 PM)

Virtual: Monday, January 4, from 4-5 PM

Capacity is VERY limited, so Registration is required. No cost to attend. Participants must be ages 13-18.


In collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution, RGV teens are invited to participate in Earth Optimism at IMAS Camp this winter break. Participants will meet like-minded teens, discuss global conservation and sustainability, and create a short video to promote practices for a sustainable future.
Participating teens will be provided filming equipment, software and laptops to complete their video project. Videos will be entered into a global competition. The in-person camp will take place at the museum in a small group of less than 10 people. Masks are required and safe social distancing will be implemented. Participants will not share any equipment. A final workshop will take place on January 4 for teens to submit their video projects.
Participants must bring their own lunch/snacks on the 28th-30th. Lunch will be provided on the last onsite day, December 31st.
