The IMAS Guild is pleased to announce our 5th Annual 5K Superhero Art Run on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. at Fireman’s Park in McAllen. This family-oriented walk and run celebrates the superheroes and artists among us. Join us to run as your favorite superhero or colorful costume and support the International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS).
Registration for the 5K Run is $30 and $15 for the One-Mile Fun Run. Participants can pick up their packets and T-shirts at the International Museum of Art & Science, located at 1900 Nolana, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, or from 7:00 – 7:45 a.m. on Saturday at Fireman’s Park on the day of the Run.
Funds raised at this Superheroes Fun Run will support educational programs at the International Museum of Art & Science. According to Guild President Tina Ziegler, there will be medals, T-shirts, prizes and surprises, as well as a display of fine art by local artists and a fun, festive atmosphere. Participants are invited to dress as their favorite hero, the more colorful and extravagant the better.
The IMAS Guild is an all-volunteer group organized to carry out volunteer and fundraising activities to support the International Museum of Art & Science in fulfilling its educational goals serving our community. The Guild’s 5K Superhero Art Run is our most popular event and a major fundraiser. This year we’re making a few changes including artist demonstrations and raffles to reach new audiences, increase participation, and raise significant funds for the IMAS’ educational programs and exhibits.
