Home>IMAS Kicks Off Annual Christmas Tree Forest with Holiday Market
The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) presents a community Holiday Market to kick off this year’s annual Christmas Tree Forest “Christmas in the RGV” on Sunday, December 5!

The annual exhibition of trees presented by the IMAS Guild has been an IMAS tradition for half a century. Participants each year decorate their trees with hand-crafted ornaments and decorations according to a theme. This year’s theme is “Christmas in the RGV,” and participants include Junior League of McAllen, McAllen ISD, IDEA College Prep, Florence J. Scott Woman’s Club, and student groups from McAllen ISD, PSJA North, and IDEA College Prep among others.

The International Museum of Art & Science will be celebrating the holiday season and the opening of the 2021 Annual Christmas Tree Forest with a festive artist and artisan market on Sunday, December 5, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition to the local artists Valley Symphony Orchestra and the McAllen Creative Arts Incubator will participate in the event this year. The community is invited to support these local artists and artisans and then visit the Christmas Tree Forest and museum exhibitions including “Imagined Worlds: Exploring the Carlos Melguizo Collection” and the Inaugural IMAS Members Juried Art Show.

Currently, admission is $3 for general admission and $1 for children 4-12 and Museums for All (WIC/EBT). IMAS Members and children 0-3 are always free. Face coverings are required for visitors and staff. The museum offers advanced registration purchase admission tickets online.
