2023 Young Adventurers Workshops

Young Adventurers is an early childhood program that fosters decision-making skills, fine motor function, literacy, and creative expression through artmaking. These exciting pre-K workshops run 30-40 minutes, including snack time. For ages 3-6 with accompanying adult.

Past Workshops

Friday, February 24: Drawing to Music
Dive into this sensory experience by creating a work of art while listening to music. Participants’ art creations will be displayed throughout the museum. This workshop includes a storytime.

Friday, March 24: Shapes with Stamps
Adventure into the unknown by layering, overlapping, and connecting shapes to create cool art. This workshop includes a storytime.

Saturday, April 22: Nature Art
Celebrate Earth Day by creating nature inspired suncatchers in the museum’s outdoor courtyard. This workshop includes a meditation time.

Friday, May 12: Painting without Brushes
Let’s paint without brushes! Tap into your creativity by using unique objects to paint amazing art. This workshop includes a storytime.

Friday, June 9: Fabric Collage
Explore textures and patterns by creating a framed fabric collage to gift for Father’s Day. This workshop includes a storytime.

October 27: Dancing Drums

Let’s get moovin’ and groovin’ with our special guest from Nadia’s School of Dance! A limited number of drum containers are available for pick up at the museum from October 21-23 during open hours.

November 24: Healthy Habits

Let’s get tastefully creative! Join us to create healthy snack ideas and learn about healthy habits to do at home.

December 29: Marshmallow Snowflakes

Let it snow at the IMAS! Join us as we make snowflakes out of marshmallows and pretzels! Kits available upon registration for a suggested donation of $3. Kit includes supplies to build two snowflakes and a holiday picture frame craft. Kit pickup via curbside is at the museum on Monday, December 28th from 10 AM-1 PM & 2-5 PM.

February 23: Puppeteers in Training

Craft a hand puppet and express yourself through imaginative play! Learn about different types of puppets and how different cultures use them to tell stories. Register at the link below. Kit pickup is Saturday, February 20th from 10 AM-1 PM.

March 30: Toad Mask

Are frogs and toads the same? Join the IMAS to learn fun facts about toads and create a toad mask! 🐸 A limited number of kits are available. Kit pickup is Saturday, March 27 from 12-5 PM.
