Get the scoop on why soil is vital to life at the International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) January 15 and 16!
The Soil Science Expo at IMAS is a weekend-long event celebrating the ground under our feet with virtual programs occurring Saturday, January 15, and a community day on-site Sunday, January 16 from 1-5 p.m. The event will feature hands-on art and science activities, research poster presentations, and opportunities for visitors to engage with civil engineers, soil scientists, and a Texas Master Naturalist. The IMAS will provide guided tours of “Dig It! The Secrets of Soil.” IMAS is the first Smithsonian Affiliate museum to pilot this new form of DIY exhibits from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History.
Participating organizations include For the Love of Soil, McAllen Public Utility, Rodriguez Engineering Laboratories LLC, South Texas College, Texas A&M University, and University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
