In this family-friendly presentation and workshop, Dr. Kathy Bussert-Webb, UTRGV professor emeritus in Education, will connect her art “American Picnic” to healthy food, upcycling, and fast-food waste. Kathy will read her book “Meet Mr. Csirke (chicken)” and invite participants to explore the soft sculptures. Children will then make a fabric book to take home.

Kathy and IMAS staff will practice COVID-safety measures, including practicing social distancing. The workshop will take place outdoors. Registration will be at the front desk entrance. Seats are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
