This café session is an opportunity to gather and share informally on whose voices and stories are excluded from histories that influence democracy. Conservations will focus on Native and Indigenous U.S. history through a case study from the Smithsonian’s National Youth Summit Civic Education Series. This is the central question we are addressing though: “How do the stories we tell about our past shape our democracy?”
Open to young teens ages 12-17.
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to workshop start time to check in.
Guardians will need to sign participants under 16 in and out at the workshop room.
