McAllen, TX — The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) is proud to announce its continued participation in the Blue Star Museums program, a nationwide initiative that offers free admission to currently-serving U.S. military personnel and their families from Armed Forces Day, May 17, 2025, through Labor Day, September 1, 2025.
Blue Star Museums is a collaboration between the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across the country. IMAS is honored to be part of this effort to express gratitude for the service and sacrifices of our military families.
“The IMAS team is excited to once again welcome active-duty military families to experience the power of art and science through this program,” said Ann Fortescue, Executive Director of IMAS. “We’re proud to be a place where families can connect, learn, and make lasting memories together.”
The free admission benefit is available to active-duty military personnel, including Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, members of the Reserves, National Guard, and U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps and NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members. A valid military ID is required.
Families visiting IMAS this summer can enjoy exhibitions such as Destino Sur, Ceremonies of the Americas: The Engravings of Bernard Picard, and upcoming exhibits Visions of the West: Highlights from the Lewis Collection and Insecta: Small Wonders of the World. They can also explore interactive learning experiences and dynamic art installations that inspire creativity and curiosity for all ages.
