McAllen, TX – This fall, the International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) once again shines a spotlight on local creativity with the return of its much-loved Members’ Juried Art Show (MJAS). Now in its fifth year, the exhibition celebrates the talent and imagination of IMAS members and will be on view from Saturday, November 22, 2025, through February 15, 2026.

Unlike traditional museum exhibitions, MJAS features artwork submitted entirely by IMAS members, offering first-time exhibitors, emerging artists, and seasoned creators a professional platform to share their vision with the public. IMAS Curator, Marcelo Ramirez Garcia-Rojas, invites adult artists to become members and enter the exhibition.

“The Members’ Juried Art Show is more than an exhibition; it’s a testament to the power of creativity across all backgrounds and skill levels,” said Ramirez. “From vibrant abstracts to detailed realism, this showcase gives visitors the chance to experience the breadth of artistic expression happening right here in the Rio Grande Valley.”

Guests enjoy the Member Reception for the 4th Annual Members’ Juried Art Show at the International Museum of Art & Science, celebrating the creativity and talent of IMAS member artists.

Current IMAS members aged 18 and up may submit up to two original artworks, with at least one guaranteed to be exhibited if it meets the submission guidelines.

Artwork must be submitted in person along with a completed application on Friday, November 7, or Saturday, November 8, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. A guest juror from outside the museum will select the final works to be featured and will award Best in Show, Second Place, Third Place, and three Honorable Mentions, each accompanied by a cash prize.

To participate, become an IMAS member and download the application at https://theimasonline.org/5th-annual-members-juried-art-show/. Memberships can be purchased or renewed online or in person. For more information, call (956) 681-2800.

An opening reception and awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 22, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Last year’s Best in Show winner, The Boxer by Robert Mirza, captivated audiences with its bold energy and dynamic use of acrylic and marker on canvas. With every new year, the MJAS continues to awe with work that is deeply personal, experimental, and reflective of the diverse voices in the community.
