PNC Grant Funds Early Childhood Workshops at IMAS

McAllen, TX – The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) was awarded a grant from the PNC Foundation in support of accessible early childhood learning and play at the museum for toddlers ages one through five through the Young Adventurers program.

Young Adventurers is an educational program with monthly weekday morning workshops available to preschool children beginning in January through May 2024, in addition to PNC Adventure Day on March 13. This program offers structured museum experiences with a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) curriculum as well as problem solving and motor skills that engage young learners and encourage critical thinking and observing skills.

Young Adventurers programs include Birdhouse Painting (January 24), Dot Your ABCs (February 22), Nature Bugs (March 21), Block-A-Thon (April 2), and Space Adventure (May 15). Pre-registration for the workshops is available at:

Together, guardians and young adventurers are encouraged to think more closely about their surroundings in nature and the importance of instilling simple STEAM concepts through play at an early age. These shared, positive museum experiences provide quality family time for parents and children.

Families will receive free admission for Young Adventurers workshops and PNC Adventure Day. The grant will also support a large group of museum memberships for families who participate and qualify for the Memberships for All program.
