The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) will now offer an additional membership level that aims to increase access to the arts and sciences for families of all socio-economic backgrounds. Designed specifically for families who are eligible for EBT or WIC welfare assistance, this Family Membership level offers all the same great member benefits for a third of the price of a traditional IMAS Family Membership.
IMAS currently participates in the Museums For All initiative, a project of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Association of Children’s Museums. Through Museums for All, those receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can gain free or reduced admission to more than 700 museums throughout the United States simply by presenting their EBT card. In 2019 the International Museum of Art & Science reached over 4,000 individuals through the Museums For All Program.

About Membership for All – Family
While this program would not be a part of the Museums For All initiative, it is similarly aimed to “encourage individuals of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum habits.” All memberships at IMAS are on an annual renewal cycle by calendar year and will be valid through December 31.
- MFA Members would be able to purchase an IMAS Family Membership for $25 for the entire calendar year (IMAS Family Memberships are traditionally $75 for the year)
- MFA Members will only need to show their EBT/WIC card once, upon registration/renewal for their annual membership, instead of every time they enter at the front desk
- MFA Members would receive Member discounts for educational programs and camps
- MFA Members would have access to the hundreds of other museums that are part of the ASTC Travel Passport program to expand their museum experiences
The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) is fully accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and is an Affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. The mission of the International Museum of Art & Science is to promote a deeper appreciation of the arts and sciences through its exhibitions, cultural events, and educational programs; and to preserve, expand, and display its permanent art and science collections.
